I started using A-Beta-CarE from Forever Living Products to help my poor skin condition. Since then I have discovered that it has so many benefits including helping me to manage the symptoms of PCOS. It is a perfect supplement to drinking Aloe.

Key Benefits

Helps with skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis and acne

Can reduce menopausal hot flushes

Powerful antioxidant

Promotes healthy skin, hair, eyes and heart

Can help manage the symptoms of Crohns, Lupus, ME, MS and gout

Contains selenium which has been medically linked to promoting men’s health/fertility

Beta Carotene

Vitamin A is a powerful nutrient for skin and eyesight, however in large doses it can be toxic. A-Beta-CarE delivers vitamin A in the form of Beta Carotene which the small intestine can convert in to Vitamin A as it is needed, taking away the possibility of overdose.

Beta Carotene is a highly effective antioxidant, which helps fight free-radical damage and therefore improves general skin health and combatting skin aging.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an essential nutrient for good skin health. It is also known to encourage effective regulation of body temperature and is therefore useful to menopausal women.

It has many other benefits such as acting as an anti-clotting agent for the blood and assisting sufferers of osteo-arthritis.

Selenium

Selenium is a trace mineral found in brazil nuts amongst other things. It too is a powerful antioxidant and therefore a promoter of great skin and hair. It has also been linked to fighting ovarian cancer.

Research has shown that selenium is important in maintaining men’s health. In particular a deficiency has been linked to prostate cancer and low sperm counts.

And…

wait for it girls, there’s more good news! A-Beta-CarE can help to combat cellulite

Only those close to me know that I am one of the 10% of women of child-bearing age that suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) but since it was one of the main reasons I got involved in distributing aloe vera and I now have a beautiful son, I feel ready to share my experiences in the hope of helping others that may be experiencing some or all of the many symptoms.

The biggest problem, in my view, is the lack of education which means that most women do not know they have PCOS until they struggle to conceive, believing that the symptoms are just a side effect of being a hormonal woman! Once the symptoms are understood it is a relatively easy to problem to diagnose, but as far as I am aware, it can not be cured, only managed.

So what is PCOS?

Literally Poly = Many, Cystic = cysts, small fluid-filled sacs. These cysts produce androgens (hormones) which prevents the proper development of the follicles that hold and finally release an egg.

In severe cases this means that the follicle is devoid of an egg, but in most cases the egg is underdeveloped or degenerated resulting in a failed pregnancy.

In short, the common signals of PCOS are:

acne (like a teenager) and generally poor skin condition

weight gain (often associated with menopausal women)

excessive or unusual hair growth (again like a teenage lad)

irregular menstrual cycles, perhaps occuring once every few months

cramping and/or heavy bleeding when menstruation does take place

irritability associated with hormone imbalance

difficulty in conceiving

Not everyone suffers from all of these and the symptoms vary in severity, but I have noticed that those who have a poor lifestyle or lack in emotional strength do suffer more. For me, the most distressing element of this hormone related disorder was the high incidence of infertility and then just to be cruel, miscarriage.

Famous sufferers include Julia Oliver (wife of Jamie) and Victoria Beckham, both of whom have managed to have healthy babies.

After the trauma of PCOS being confirmed by a blood test and an ultrasound exam, I read as much as I could about PCOS (isn’t the internet fabulous?) and called my friend (now mentor) and set about a programme of management that could only be construed by an accountant! Haha! Now I look back, I can laugh at myself but I assure you I was very seriously affected by the realisation that my fertility could be hindered.

Over a period of about five months, I managed to reduce my cycle from 35-40 days to a more appropriate 28-30 days and to manage my acne and eczema in a more natural way, by learning to understand my body, improving my nutrition and committing to more exercise. I have not had a weight issue, but I am now more conscious of this as I said at the beginning of this post, awareness and understanding is the most important factor. You can not manage something you don’t understand.

I am fortunate that I do not have a severe case, but it is a problem that stirs up many emotions none-the-less. If you would like to know how I have dealt with PCOS, I would be pleased to share this with you in confidence, please contact me.

Since writing this post I have discovered http://www.pcoschallenge.com/ a lovely online forum for fellow sufferers. Take a peek….

The key to weight management is to eat healthily and keep active. We all know that, don’t we?

So why are so many of us overweight? My opinion on this is simple, stressful lifestyles! The food we buy is lacking in the essential vitamins and minerals we need due to intense farming and prolonged storage, busy lives provide time constraints that ensure we are overworked and even when we have got some leisure time we are so tired we can not bear the thought of shopping and preparing good ingredients or (heaven forbid) do some exercise out in the fresh air!

Leading up to my pregnancy I gained weight but it didn’t seem to bother me. After my son was born my aging skin looked awful and saggy. All my clothes fit badly and I felt ‘blobby’ and unhappy. So I embarked on a weight loss programme; those of you who are facebook friends will have seen my daily diary where I lost half a stone in two weeks and have given myself another two and a bit weeks to lose another. A stone in a month isn’t bad is it? So I do speak from experience when I say, it can be done and for me the key to staying motivated is ENERGY.

Standard diets often leave you craving naughty food because you are hungry, lacking in key nutrients and feeling low. To stay positive when you feel tired and depressed is incredibly difficult. I can honestly say that on the Forever Nutri-Lean programme I have never felt hungry and my poor skin condition has improved too because of the cleansing process.

A kick start to a healthier you

The nutri-lean programme starts with a 9-day kick start designed to rid you of toxins, break bad eating habits and clean your gut so that you can absorb more of the goodness from your food and expel the less favourable more efficiently.

After the 9-day detox, you begin to reintroduce your normal eating patterns but keeping to a calorie plan that suits your basal metabolic rate (the rate at which your body converts calories in to energy whilst at rest).

My keys to success are:

Plan for success. Write down your goals, make sure they are realistic and make sure you understand at what point you are starting. Be HONEST!

Keep to the routine suggested by Forever and carry on taking any other supplements you are currently using to benefit your health.

Don’t weigh and measure yourself every day. Other factors will cause weight to fluctuate and you don’t want this to knock your motivation. For example, I usually weigh 2lb more in the evening than in the morning (and for girls, your weight can vary throughout your cycle)

If you feel hungry, check that you are taking the correct amount of Garcinia at the right times.

If you feel tired or lacking energy, take additional bee pollen tablets. These are a fabulous superfood that will give you a boost without sugar or caffeine.

EXERCISE there’s no getting away from it, you can not expect your body to function properly if you do not use your muscles and get oxygenated blood circulating through your system. Don’t forget your heart is a muscle that needs exercise. Whilst you are trying to lose weight you need to fit in 20 minutes per day. This doesn’t have to be aerobic, anything that raises your heart-rate above its rest rate is good, so walk to work, take the stairs, play with the kids in the garden, you get the idea. If you can, 1/2 an hour of vigourous exercise twice a week will do wonders for your energy levels, motivation and inch loss.

I wish you the very best with your weight management, but above all I wish for you to be happy and healthy.

Best Regards, Toni
