Aloe Deep Moisturizing Cream

The amazing, top quality Sonya Skincare range has been extended.

The Deep Moisturizing Cream quenches your skin’s thirst for moisture. As well as Aloe (of course) it contains pine bark extract with OPCs (Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins) containing some of the strongest antioxidant properties in nature. This combats free radicals to help preserve and strengthen the skin’s collagen, the most abundant protein in the body.  Scientists believe reducing the impact of free radicals to be one of the best ways to counteract the signs of ageing.

The aloe helps carry these key ingredients deep in to the layers of the skin, helping to restore and preserve your skin’s youthful appearance rather than paying to ‘plump up’ the dead cells sitting on the outer layer of epidermis. Scientists believe reducing the impact of free radicals to be one of the best ways to counteract the signs of ageing.

Go on, pamper yourself!

Microbes are micro-organisms that live in our bodies and play a role in our general health and well-being.

While some microbes are detrimental, the majority are beneficial.  These ‘good bacteria’ are called ‘probiotic’ meaning ‘for life’ in Greek.

Our bodies are full of micro-organisms — in and on the skin, in the gut, and in other orifices. Friendly bacteria are vital to proper development of the immune system, to protection against micro-organisms that could cause disease, and to the digestion and absorption of food and nutrients. Each person’s mix of bacteria varies. Interactions between a person and the micro-organisms in his body, and among the micro-organisms themselves, can be crucial to the person’s health and well-being – a very difficult and delicate balancing act.

Unfriendly micro-organisms such as disease-causing bacteria, yeasts, fungi, and parasites can also upset the balance. Researchers are exploring whether probiotics could halt these unfriendly agents in the first place and/or suppress their growth and activity in conditions like:

  • Inflammatory bowel disease like ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s diesase
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Ulcers and some types of chronic stomach inflammation
  • Vaginal infections
  • Infectious diarrhoea
  • Tooth decay
  • Stomach and respiratory infections
  • Skin infections

Designed to promote a healthy digestive system, Forever Active Probiotic is a small, easy to swallow beadlet that helps redress imbalances created by our food and lifestyle choices.  It works primarily in the colon where it assists with the process of food digestion, helping to release nutrients for absorption and contributes positively to normal human growth and development by encouraging and maintaining a balanced healthy system.

As probiotics themselves are quite fragile, Forever Active Probiotic uses an exclusive patented encapsulation technology that protects the probiotics then releases a unique combination of six beneficial strains of microbes once the beadlet has reached its optimum destination – the large intestine.

Teamed with Aloe Vera Gel drink, which cleans the gut and aids absorption amoungst other benefits, probiotics can be most efficient.

Nutritionist Dorne Parker says “Probiotics can also help with fatigue, sleep problems, skin conditions, joints and muscles, allergies and general immune dysfunction”

Dr Peter Atherton, a GP and aloe research expert says “Probiotics are considered to be both safe and effective for preventing and treating antibiotic-associated diarrhoea and infectious diarrhoea.  They probably work by direct competition between pathogenic bacteria in the gut and immune modulation”

In summary,

  • Probiotics promote a healthy digestive system
  • Probiotics enhance nutrient absorption and immune function
  • Forever Active Probiotic is a high quality, easy to use probiotic that doesn’t need to be refrigerated and contains six beneficial strains of microbes.

With eczema being such a common ailment in today’s society (as many as 1 in 3 children under the age of 5 years old suffers with eczema) I’m often asked which of Forever’s fantastic range of aloe and bee products should be tried, so I list below they key points for quick reference.

Aloe and bee propolis is an amazing combination as aloe is a natural healer and nutrient-rich superfood, helping the skin to recover whilst the propolis cleanses, moisturises and generally alleviates the itchiness.

Aloe Vera Gel Drink (nicknamed the miracle plant or healing plant)Aloe Vera Gel-compressedHI

This is not a comprehensive list of the products that may help, it is intended to give an overview of the key products I would recommend to assist in the relief of eczema.  For example, I suffer with broken skin around my armpits, so the soothing, unperfumed deo-stick is a must and the Aloe First spray is great for cleansing sensitive, scaly skin.

To find out more about the products, visit our online shop or get in touch via email.

Fellow distributor Jane Rubin says

“Just to add my own experience – I have found that the Aloe Vera Gelly is the very best anti-itch formula. What I suggest to eczema sufferers is to use the Gelly at night, then after washing in the morning, apply a thin coat of Gelly followed by the Propolis Creme. The extra moisturising quality of these used together helps with the dryness of the affected areas, and the Propolis is so healing of the worst patches. The Aloe First is also excellent, especially if there is a large area to be covered.”

and Ruth Goodwin says

“My daughter is eight years old, and suffers with eczema. She’s drinks the gel daily and we mix together Aloe Propolis Creme and Aloe First to put on her skin, and find this combination makes the perfect consistency to stop the itching.”

Social media is full of tips, lists and top ten reasons to do or not to do something.  Here’s my contribution

Top ten reasons to drink aloe vera gel

…that’s right, drink it!    Most people of heard of aloe vera and it’s brilliant soothing effects on burns and skin complaints but many are unaware of the benefits to the skin on the inside of our bodies, such as the stomach lining, intestines etc.

Aloe is an incredibly nutritious antioxidant, containing many vitamins and 19 of the 20 amino acids needed by the human body, so it’s a perfect supplement to our nutrient lacking diets.Aloe Vera Gel-1604x2097-HI

10. Effect on the gut

Aloe Vera has a wonderfully beneficial action on bowel function which results in smooth and efficient transit of contents, often eradicating inconvenient colicky pain.

9. Assists in healthy digestion

A healthy digestive tract ensures that nutrients from the food we eat are absorbed into the bloodstream.  There is clear, clinical evidence that by drinking Aloe Vera gel the bowel is able to absorb these nutrients more efficiently, especially protein.  I also suspect that many other substances are much better absorbed under its influence.

8. Effect on gut flora

Aloe Vera is a natural ‘balancer’ in many areas and nowhere more so than the inside of the gut, where it tends to regulate the various bacteria and yeasts that inhabit it.

7. Effect on the skin

When they are first produced deep in the epidermis, skin cells are rather large and very much alive, but by the time they reach the surface after 21 – 28 days (in normal skin) they are a shadow of their former selves and are transformed into just thin flakes of keratin which eventually fall off.  Aloe Vera gel provides the essential nutrients to feed the basal cells.  Therefore the skin remains healthy and is able to perform its vital functions more efficiently – as well as looking much better.

Texas Aloe Plantations-1065x1191-HI6. Increases the activity of fibroblasts

Fibroblasts are specialised cells found in the skin.  Their job is to produce fibre such as collagen and elastin.  These fibres give the skin its structure and of course, make it look plump and elastic.

5.  Antiviral activity

Within the mucilage layer of the aloe’s leaf which surrounds the valuable inner gel there is a long chain of sugar or polysaccharide.  This has the capability of being able to help us defend against attacks by various viruses, from the common cold to the more nasty viruses and could even help balance your immune system.

4.  Anti-inflammatory and painkilling effect

Among the substances that have been identified in Aloe Vera are several that are naturally anti-inflammatory and painkilling.  People who take it regularly often find that inflammatory conditions are greatly benefited.

3.  A useful source of minerals

Some of the minerals found in Aloe Vera include calcium, sodium, potassium, iron, chromium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc.  This is because the plant tends to grow in areas where soils are rich in these minerals and its roots are able to absorb and deliver them to us in a very available form.

2.  A useful source of vitamins

Aloe Vera gel contains a large range of vitamins – even trace elements of vitamin B12 which is rarely found in plants.  Apart from vitamin A, it contains B-group vitamins, vitamin C and E as well as folic acid.  Many of these vitamins can not be stored by the body so we constantly need to top them up from the food we eat.

1.  A general tonic for good health

By drinking Aloe Vera gel with all its amazing and important ingredients (that are often deficient in food) including 19 out of 20 amino acids needed by the human body and 7 of the 8 essential ones that cannot be made, the body is able to get enough nutrition to allow complex enzyme systems to work really well.  This means the body can function at 100%.  The net result being a wonderful feeling of well being.

According to the expert nutritionist, Patrick Holford, vitamin C helps knock out viruses, both by inhibiting the virus itself, and by strengthening the body’s own immune response.

High doses of Vitamin C, have been proven to be non-toxic for both adults and children over many years.

The same cannot be said for this new generation of antiviral drugs.  One of the most alarming and rarely mentioned side-effects of Tamiflu (Swine Flu vaccine)  is bizarre psychiatric problems found in children treated with the drug, prompting the US FDA to recommend new warnings concerning these possible dangerous psychiatric side-effects.

Absorbent-C-596x1000-HIIt might be useful to have a supply of vitamin C at hand if a flu epidemic does break out. There is no harm in having 100 grams a day short-term, stopping once all symptoms are gone if you choose, after all vitamin C provides many benefits.

The trick with any infection is not to get it in the first place by keeping your immune system strong.  Patrick Holford takes vitamin C daily, as well as supplementing zinc and selenium on a daily basis.

So consider a daily ‘swine flu’ preventative by drinking one of our Aloe Vera Gel Drinks (for excellent nutrition, detoxing, building your immunity, increasing energy levels, etc) plus taking supplements Absorbent C (for vitamin C), A-Beta-CarE for extra Selenium and a very powerful antioxidant, and Nature Min (for zinc and selenium).

Also, cut down on sugar as this restricts the performance of white blood cells, get plenty of sleep and avoid stress if possible.

If you need a quick immunity boost because you are surrounded by germ-ridden folk or you can feel the first stages of a cold, try Echinacea, I swear by it! (not suitable if you are pregnant)  Also, if you need an energy boost because fighting germs is tiring, you may want to consider a superfood such as bee pollen.

Did you know that Vitamin C is

- a powerful antioxidant

- involved in research into the prevention of heart disease and cancer

- amazing for skin as it increases the formulation of intercellular collagen

- necessary for the maintenance of healthy connective tissue

- water soluble and is secreted from the body.  Humans are unable to make their own and therefore need to find ways of consuming vitamin C to maintain adequate levels

- Science reports that one cigarette destroys 25mg of vitamin C and stress is known to heavily deplete the body of this essential vitamin.

- Deficiency can result in bleeding from small capillaries under the skin and gums and wounds heal more slowly.

Full details of these and all our product range can be found in the current Product Brochure…if you don’t already have one, please ask me or browse in our online shop  The prices are the same as ordering through me but you will be charged for postage and packing and you will not be able to take advantage of the offers available to subscribers of my monthly newsletter.
